SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Performs duties required by the counseling profession:

1. Plans, implements, and advocates the level guidance program to assigned level in response to the level’s developmental needs and concerns;
2. Educates and prepares students proactively through the use of developmentally appropriate competencies and activities during guidance classes for their personal, academic, social and career growth and evaluates its progress;
3. Proposes, organizes, leads and evaluates special projects such as class encounter and symposium to address student’s issues and needs;
4. Conducts and documents annual routine interview of all assigned students as initial consultation and identifies students for follow-up;
5. Calls students for and documents follow – up of students who are referred and/or with identified needs.
6. Attends to and documents consultation with students who come to the guidance office voluntarily individually or as a group and identifies their needs which can serve as aim for further assessment and recommendation;
7. Plans for, refers and recommends a student who needs counseling and/or other forms of assessment as action plan and monitors her progress;
8. Interprets the results of standardized tests to students, parents and concerned teachers for purposes of educational management, personal development and career preparation;
9. Informs the guidance head of concerns pertaining to students;
10. Informs the GLL, CLAD, level team, and/or parent through individual or group consultation about student’s concerns when necessary;
11. Coordinates and collaborates with level team, school community, parents, alumnae and other professionals who can be of assistance to a student and in the implementation of the level program;
12. Evaluates guidance services and activities with the use of appropriate tool to improve the guidance program;
13. Pursues and engages in professional development in response to the Guidance and Counseling Act (R.A. 9258);
B. Performs other duties assigned by the institution:

14. Administers psychological tests conducted by the Guidance Center when necessary;
15. Prepares a batch profile at the end of the school year and communicates this to the incoming level team;
16. Designs materials such as routine and evaluation forms to be used in the delivery of guidance services;
17. Consults, assists and supports GLL, CLAD and level team concerning level activities, meetings and/or other level assigned task;
18. Attends and documents level meeting for student’s case deliberations, quarterly conduct deliberations and final academic deliberations;
19. Works with the GLL, CLAD and level team on the sectioning of her level and submits the sectioning list to the Office for Student Affairs;
20. Prepares, updates and submits reports and other documents required/assigned;
21. Submits to the Director for Student Affairs the following:

    i. Minutes of the Quarterly Conduct Deliberations
    ii. Sectioning List;

22. Submits to the Principal the minutes of the final academic deliberation meeting;
23. Proctors during quarterly exams;
24. Conducts research that will be useful in the curricular and co-curricular programs of the school when necessary;
25. Attends departmental, division, and institutional meetings and activities; and
26. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counseling or Psychology
  • Required to undertake Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling
  • Preferably with at least two (2) years work experience as Guidance Mentor/Counselor
  • Computer Literate
  • Term: 1 year subject to re-appointment

    Dormitory Nurse

    Job Description

    To make/update the medical record/history of every boarder

    • Coordinates with the HED/BED clinic for the medical history of the boarders;
    • Plans and coordinates with the AC Dorm Team, schedules and develops appropriate programs and activities to increase body resistance and to prevent illness, proper sanitation and first aid treatment for simple illnesses. Developing health consciousness of the boarders.

    To check on the symptoms of the sick boarder, check her medical history and give appropriate first aid treatment and medications

    • Attends to the sick boarder, checking and assessing her symptoms and complaints;
    • Checks the boarder’s medical history and allergies
    • Informs the boarder’s parents about such
    • Gives appropriate first aid treatment and or medications
    • Coordinates with the Dorm Directress/Staff regarding the sick boarder and to the school physician when needed
    • Recommends to the Dorm Directress if the sick boarder would need to be brought to the hospital for more intensive check-up/care
    • Defines needed requirements and fills up requests for the medical medications and needed medical equipment as well as for the maintenance, upkeep and improvements of the Infirmary
    • Makes sure that the Infirmary is clean and well sanitized, ready for any sick boarder at all times
    • Makes the medical record of each boarder, files them systematically
    • Does medical report of the symptoms, nursing diagnosis and document and administers prescribed medicines of each patient who gets sick and gives it to the school physician, parent or guardian when the sick boarder is checked in the school clinic or picked up.

    To manage and check the provisions and delivery of medical services in the Dorm Infirmary and initiates periodic assessment and quality of medical services

    • To monitor the maintenance, upkeep and cleanliness of the dormitory Infirmary its stocks of medications, facilities and its medical equipment

    1. To help develop policies, programs and emergency procedures in giving medical services and in administering medications to sick boarders
    2. To be responsive to the needs of the boarders under her care
    3. Assists in the formation of boarders
    4. Responds to emergencies within the school premises after school clinic hours; on-call 24 hours a day;
    5. Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the Dorm Directress and her assistants from time to time.
    6. Assists in the over-all operation of the dormitory.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
    1. Preferably a BS Nursing Degree holder
    2. Knowledgeable in first aid
    3. Possesses at least 1 year of work experience in medical care
    4. Possesses good people leadership and planning skills
    5. Above average in oral and written communication skills
    6. Must be proficient in using computer programs
    7. Must possess a high level of emotional and intellectual maturity
    8. Considered a person of high moral and integrity by others in the institution or her previous place of work, especially in handling confidential information/situations
    9. Willing to go extra mile.
